Dear Friend,
As part of our continued engagement in the 2021 election cycle in New York City, the New York Jewish Agenda (NYJA) is delighted to invite you to a Candidates Forum for the Manhattan District Attorney race. We are a lead co-sponsor of this important event, where we will hear from all eight candidates running for one of the most prominent and powerful law enforcement positions in the country. We will discuss issues of particular relevance to our community including systemic racism, ending mass incarceration, community safety, and hate violence.
The forum is being hosted by the Jewish Coalition on Criminal Justice Reform, in which NYJA serves as a member of the Coalition’s steering committee. The event will take place via Zoom webinar on Tuesday, May 25th from 7:00-8:30 PM, and registration is free at this link. The candidates confirmed to attend are: Tahanie Aboushi, Alvin Bragg, Liz Crotty, Diana Florence, Lucy Lang, Eliza Orlins, Dan Quart, and Tali Farhadian Weinstein. We are thrilled that Udi Ofer, member of the NYJA Leaders Network and Director of the Justice Division at the ACLU, will moderate the forum.
When you register for the forum, you will have the opportunity to submit suggested questions for the candidates. We will review these submissions with Udi as we prepare the questions he will ask.
For the latest updates on our work, please follow us on Twitter at @NYJewishAgenda or on our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you on the 25th!
Warm regards,
Matt Nosanchuk
