Last night’s 10 Congressional District Forum was a huge success! More than 350 people registered for the event and many hundreds more watched the livestream. It was the lead story in today’s Jewish Insider!
We were thrilled that all eight candidates who are actively campaigning for Congress participated in in the forum, where they had the opportunity to address why they are running, how they’ll be effective representing the NY-10 in a polarized political environment; their positions on BDS and Israel/Palestine; combatting antisemitism and rising hate crimes; the rapidly changing landscape on church/state issues; and, last but certainly not least, their favorite stop and go-to order in the 10th congressional district for bagels or Jewish deli!
The forum was co-sponsored by NYJA, the Forward, Congregation Beth Elohim (CBE) and the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY (JCRC-NY). The participating candidates included Dan Goldman, Elizabeth Holtzman, Mondaire Jones, Maud Maron Yuh-Line Niou, Carlina Rivera, Brian Robinson and Jo Anne Simon. Our very own Board Member and CBE Senior Rabbi Rachel Timoner co-moderated the forum with the Forward’s Senior Political Correspondent, Jacob Kornbluh.
